Nationwide pensions have been in a growing crisis. Even in NYC many unions have seen their pensions threatened with decreasing payouts for retirees. You work hard and deserve to retire with the dignity you’ve earned. Your pension is secure and our annuity last year had a return of 9.99%. Developed new member communication tools through text messaging, robocalls and emails

Our Union family succeeds when we work together.  Members communicate in different ways.  The Clean Slate has always been committed to reaching and including EVERY member.  To do that we started a new communication program to make sure that every member can be informed, active and get all of the benefits they are entitled to.  From rally alerts to information to help retirees get the Covid vaccine, we are committed to finding ways to keep each of you informed.

COVID-19 Response

In the face of the pandemic, our union stepped up to perform essential construction work throughout the city. The Trust Funds launched a $10,000 COVID-19 hardship Annuity withdrawal option to help provide emergency support. The Clean Slate also successfully worked with the Trust Funds to adopt a first ever 300 hour credit to protect member healthcare coverage due to COVID-19. We also made sure at the height of the crisis that every member could hold their spot through amended hiring hall rules. Mike Prohaska worked to create a comprehensive COVID-19 response website that assisted members to access available resources and help retirees register for the COVID-19 vaccine.
